What a week in Lanesboro! We had the Stand Still Parade in Whalan, Trout Days in Preston and the Bluff Country Gathering of fiddlers here in Lanesboro. One of our guests was one of the fiddlers. His name is Gary Bartig and he designs violins and basses. His instruments are all over the world. The person who plays bass behind Dolly Parton, has one of his basses. While we were eating, he serenaded us. He played “Over the Rainbow” for me which is one of my favorites. It was the first song I sang at contest when in high school.
