Amish tours are a popular attraction here in bluff country. Bluffscape Amish Tours of Lanesboro will take you on a fun, educational experience through the Amish countryside of Southeastern Minnesota. Tours begin on April 14th, 2018 and depart from Stone Mill Hotel & Suites at 100 Beacon Street in Lanesboro, Minnesota through October. The tour will typically take about 3- 3 ½ hours . You will travel in a large van or a 14 passenger mini bus with a guide to Amish farms and shops in the countryside. On this excursion you will visit Amish farms, Amish retail craft shops, and you may see Amish working in their fields, gardens and yards. You will have the opportunity to get out at each stop, and possibly visit one of their homes! On Saturdays, home-made pie and ice cream may be available for tasting and the opportunity to take a horse-drawn wagon ride may present itself. You will not go hungry either, Bluffscape Amish Tours will stop at one of their wonderful bakeries as well.

People often wonder what items are available for purchase. The Amish are known for making beautiful quilts, table runners, rugs and pot holders. You may have seen some of the woven baskets for sale at Stone Mill Clothing & Gifts that are made by the Amish, napkin holders, wine carriers and much more. Amish made furniture is well made and carefully crafted by the hands of skilled artists, along with other wooden accessories, toys and gadgets. Jams, jellies, canned vegetables, sweets and candles will line the shelves at Amish markets.
